Matsushiro memorial centre is one of the best Japanese wartime exhibits. It is also a place where people can learn more about history from first hand information sources about the wartime situation in Japan. It is also interesting place because the guide who explained about the memorial centre in Matsushiro was a person who participated the Second World War.
I was really impressed by the guide who tried to explain how the war was from his personal experiences. And it is really to be appreciated his effort advocate for peace.
The underground shelter, which was supposed to be used during the war, was constructed in a difficult situation. And innocent people have paid huge sacrifices. To construct the shelter at the basement of a mountain is a difficult task. Those who participated in the construction of the shelter suffered enormously. And I think that their pain was unbearable.
The memorial centre teaches us that, in wartime, people cannot have any right to question any one with regard to peace, because everyone is supposed to support the war and no one can ask that peace could be found under the shelter. The centre can tell us many facts about the war more than books or movies. It is the real historical place where the younger generation can see how the wartime Japan seemed to be like.
Finally I can say that the Matsushiro memorial centre can show us that peace cannot found under a strong bunker.
